Dorygasteridae

The family Dorygasteridae was erected for a new genus, Dorygaster. It is characterized by:
A bulb-like structure with internal lining forming 3 valve-plates at the end of the anterior part of the esophagus, which is about one-third of the total esophageal length
A short isthmus enlarging posteriorly to form a typically dorylaimoid posterior part.
The family is based on D. kashmirensis described from 2 females collected from soil at the banks of Dal Lake at Srinagar, Kashmir, India:
Body length 1.60 to 1.68 mm.
Head narrow, offset
Long;stirrup-shaped amphids at the base of the lateral lips,
Odontostyle exceedingly fine, 12 um long, with a simple extension,
Pr-rectum 82 um long
Vulva transverse at 49.4 to 50%,
Didelphic-amphidelphispaired ovaries
Tail conoid-rounded, 27 um long.
