- Small nematodes, mostly < 1.5 mm long.
- Cuticle dorylaimoid; smooth or tessellate with both transverse and
longitudinal striae.
- Lip region with 6 outer labial papillae that are cornuate or setiform
- Oral area elevated
- Amphids large
- Odontostyle very thin, odontophore rod-like or flanged
- Esophagus enlarged at middle or posterior third.
- Female gonad didelphic amphidelphic, monodelphic prodelphic or monodelphic opisthodelphic
- Males rare; spicules short and plump; 1-8 ventromedian
