Morphology and Anatomy:

Relatively large, slender and anteriorly attenuated.
Ocelli absent.
Cuticle smooth.
Six labial setae. Six longer and four shorter cephalic setae in one circle. Somatic setae short.
Stomatal opening surrounded by complex flaplike lips.
Buccal cavity large, heavily cuticularized and complex; buccal denticles not organized into definite rows. Large right broad-based hollow subventral tooth only.
Amphids faint, crescent shape, at level of base of the buccal cavity.
Esophagus diameter increasing posteriorly; no esophageal bulbs
Anterior 25% of tail conical, remainder flagellate.
Caudal glands and spinneret absent.

Males: Diorchic, testes opposed, outstretched Spicules paired, equal, arcuate, 2 x cbd. long. Gubernaculum strongly cuticularized, complex with dorso-caudally directed apophysis. Two tubular cuticularised precloacal supplements surmounted by a distinct cap. A small accessory triangular (lateral view) refractive structure located between the cloaca and the posterior supplement. Distribution:

Collected at a depth of 2875 m with a box-core sampler in the Rockall Trough, a deep-water bathymetric feature to the northwest of Scotland and Ireland, running roughly from southwest to northeast.
