Note: Some authorities have synonymized Acrobelophis with chiloplacus. However, Andrassy (2005) disagreed.

Morphology and Anatomy:

  • Cuticle well annulated
  • Lateral filed with 2 or 3 incisures
  • Six lips; labial probollae symmetrical with a narrow shaftt an two tuning-fork-shapedtips.
  • Cephalic probollae triangular with pointed tip
  • Esophagus corpus cylindrical
  • Tail of both sexes conoid or cylindroid with rounded end and a mucro

Female:

  • monodelphic-prodelphic with post-uterine sac of varying llength

Male:

  • monorchic

  • without bursa
