Morphology and Anatomy:

With general characteristics of family Xyalidae, and:

 

Females:

  •  Monodelphic-prodelphic. Anterior portion of the ovary on left of the intestine while the ovary tends to be bent ventrally and posterior portion situated to the right side of the intestine.

Males:  

  • Reproductive system monorchic or diorchic.
  • Anterior testis straight, to the left of the intestine; posterior testis reflexed, to the right of the intestine.
  • Spicules small, strongly bent, proximally cephalated and distally acute.
  • Gubernaculum absent or small and parallel to distal part of spicules.

Distribution:

Free-living marine nematodes. Species have been described from shallow-water sediment in the White Sea of Russia and from deep sea arctic locations.
