Morphology and Anatomy:

The genus Neodiplopeltula was established to accommodate species from the genus Diplopeltula Gerlach, 1950 with the following morphological characters: amphids in the shape of an elongated loop, a well-developed subcylindrical stoma, and outstretched ovaries.

  • Cuticle transversely striated
  • Six papilliform outer labial sensilla; four setiform cephalic sensilla
  • Amphideal fovea loop-shaped (inverted U-shaped).
  • Buccal cavity subcylindrical and often asymmetrical
  • Pharynx subcylindrical, not subdivided into distinct sections.
  • Tail with three caudal glands with separate openings; spinneret absent.
