Morphology and Anatomy:

Main characteristics:

 

 

Female:

  • Didelphic, amphidelphic; anterior ovary  left of intestine and posterior right of intestine.

  • A mass of sperm  attached to the vulva in a mucosal clump.

  • Vulva llightly posterior to mid-body

  •  Large seminal receptacle.

  • Three caudal glands and triangular spinneret.


 

Males:

  • Diorchic, testes left of intestine, one branch extended and one reflexed.
  • Spicules strongly bent in their proximal third, 1.2-1.34x cbd, cephalate proximally and distal portion rounded.
  • Gubernaculum without apophyses.
  • No precloacal supplements
  • Three caudal glands and triangular spinneret

Specific name recognizes that the gubernaculum lacks apophysis, which is considered unique in the genus.
