Morphology and Anatomy:

Dorylaimopsis turneri: 1. male haed; 2 punctaytions at mid-body; 3. Male anterior; 4. Male tail and spicule; 5. Femele head; 6: Female tail  Scale bars = 20 um

Females:

  • Didelphic, amphidelphic, vulva at mid-body, ovaries outstretched, may be reflexed.
  • Short uteri, small spermathecae

Distribution:

Specimens of some species were collected from bottom substrate in the Indian Ocean mainly at depths of 20-100m (Muthumbi et al., 1997). Also from the Bohai Sea, China, in clay-silt deposits at 10m depth (Zhang, 1992).

Feeding:

Free-living marine nematodes. The three large teeth suggest omnivory as well as epistrate feeding.
