Morphology and Anatomy:

The genus Metaphanoderma differs from the other genera  in the subfamily Phanodermatinae in having:

• Well-developed Type VI cephalic capsule with three cuticular extensions,walls uniformly thick with deep grooves on four long lobes at posterior part, lateral lobes longer than dorsal lobes.
• Amphid ssituated above lateral grooves
• Cephalic setae in lateral lobe aperture of head capsule
• Pigmented eye spots present or absent
• Tail conical, pointed or bluntly rounded
