Morphology and Anatomy:

The genus Metaphanoderma differs from the other genera in the subfamily Phanodermatinae in having:

a well-developed cephalic capsule with three cuticular extensions,walls uniformly thick with deep grooves on four long lobes at posterior part, lateral lobes longer than dorsal lobes.
Amphid ssituated above lateral grooves
Cephalic setae in lateral lobe aperture of head capsule
Pigmented eye spots present or absent
