Morphology and Anatomy:

• Cuticle homogeneaous with transverse rows of dots but without obvious lateral differentiation.
• Amphideal fovea near l;everl of cephalic setae; either slit-like, unispiral, spiral, cryptocircular or loop-shaped.
• Buccal cavity with three nearly equal solid teeth, or with dorsal tooth slightly larger than subventrals.
• Ocelli may be present.
• Tail conical or conico-cylindrical with conspicuous spinneret

Distribution:

Mainly marine, a few freshwater species.

A globally distributed  genus frequently found among accumulations of organisms, including macro- and microalgae and crustaceans, as well as artificial substrates such as settlement plates and ship hulls (Leduc, 2020).
