Morphology and Anatomy:

 

 

 

Females:

  • Didelphic, amphidelphic with reflexed ovaries; anterior on right of intestine, posterior on left.
  • Vulva at mid-body

  • Cuticle heavily heterogeneously annulated with punctations;  Lateral differentiation an elevated ridge (alae) between level of nerve ring and level of anus
  •  Cheilostome surrounded by twelve folded rugae. Pharyngostome with two subventral teeth and  one large claw-like dorsal tooth. Anterior part of pharyngostome with six outer labial setae and 4 cephalic setae in a single crown.
  • Amphideal fovea indiscernible, probably slit-like
  •  Somatic setae sparse throughout body.
  •  Pharynx muscular awith one posterior bulb; two thin muscular interruptions anterior to it.
  •  Nerve ring at mid-pharynx;
  • Excretory pore located ventral to pharyngeal bulb and ventral gland an elongated bulb ventral to anterior part of intestine.
  • Tail conical, about4-5 abd long with spinneret bearing two setae (4-5 um). -+

Males:

  • Monorchic, testis outstretched on right of intestine.
  • Spicules long, arcuate. about 2x cbd
  • Gubernaculum small, plate-like parallel to dorsal side of spicules.
  • Pre-cloacal modification a cuticular thickening of 11–13 annules, located  about 24 annules anterior to cloacal opening.

Described from muddy intertidal mangroves of the Sundarban, West Bengal, India.
