Morphology and Anatomy:

The genus Mbaisonema is characterized by:

• Buccal capsule reduced to sclerotized annulus; cuticular lining of capsule inflated into 4 prominent lobes, protruding to mouth opening;
• Mouth with labial crown of numerous tiny elements;
• Esophagus with elongate corpus, short, narrower isthmus and distinct bulb; nerve-ring and excretory pore in mid-esophageal region; deirids in anterior esophageal region. Parasitic in stomachs of macropodid marsupials.

Male:

• Dorsal ray of bursa with 4 branches
• Gubernaculum absent
• Tail conical

Female:

• vulva immediately anterior to anus;
• Vagina short, ovejector Y-shaped.
