simple unispiral or "shepherd's crook" amphids.
buccal cavity spall, usually without teeth
espophagus usually with but sometimes without terminal bulb.
Females diovarial.
Males with prominent tubiform supplements.
Spinneret and caudal glands present
majority are marine or inhabit brackish water.
feeding habits of some are uncertain, but many are bacterivores and some may feed on algae.
