A subfamily of free-living marine nematodes
- Cuticle with Homogeneous or heterogeneous punctation, usually with minimal lateral field areas.
- Arrangement of anterior sensilla (Inner Labial Sensilla; Outer Labial
Sensilla and Cephalic Sensilla) in 3 separate circlets, that is 6+6+4
- Amphid apertures slit-like
- Ocelli
visible on fresh specimens
- Buccal cavity with three equally-sized solid teeth
- Esophagus usually with posterior bulb.
- Females diovarial.
- Male with precloacal cup-shaped supplemenmts
- Tail conoid with spinneret.
- Mainly marine nematodes.
