Tylenchida Tylenchina Criconematoidea Criconematidae
Criconema mutabile Taylor, 1936
Criconema mutabile. This ring nematode species is smaller in size than Mesocriconema xenoplax, permitting it to thrive in some medium-textured soils.
It was originally described by Taylor (1936) as Criconemodes mutabile and transferred to Criconema by Raski and Luc (1985).
Reported median body size for this species (Length mm; width micrometers; weight micrograms) - Click:
Distribution of C. mutabile is not known but it was reported by Raski (1952) from several locations in California, USA
D-rated pests in California.
Ectoparasite.
It occurs on a wide variety of hosts, including cotton and Prunus spp.
Ecophysiological Parameters:
It is just as damaging to Prunus spp. as Mesocriconema xenoplax (McKenry et al., 1990).
