Morphology and Anatomy:

 

   Males

  • Monorchic
  • Paired, arcuate spicules
  • Gubernaculum arcuate
  • Bursa extending to mid-tail

Females:

  • Body straight, slightly ventrally arcuate after vulva.
  • Cuticle finely annulated,
  • Lateral field with six incisures.
  • Lip region slightly flattened, continuous with body contour
  • Stylet weak, short, conus ca. 33.3- 44.4% of the stylet length, with distinct rounded basal knobs.
  • DEGO 0.5-1.5 um behind stylet base.
  • Esophageal procorpus cylindroid,metacorpus at 35-40% of esophagus length,  with a distinct valvular apparatus,
  • Isthmus narrow and same length as procorpus, terminal bulb pyriform, offset from intestine.
  • Nerve ring around isthmus
  • Excretory pore opening at the posterior region of nerve ring.
  • Hemizonid located near and anterior to the excretory pore.
  • Deirids located almost opposite to excretory pore.
  • Reproductive system monodelphic-prodelphic, ovary with single row of oocytes,
  • Post-uterrine sac, length 1.8-3.8 times body width at vulva.
  • Spermatheca long with large rounded sperm, vulva a transverse slit, vagina extending into the body slightly less than half body width,
  •  Vulva-anus distance 87-122 um.
  • Tail conoid, with pointed tip.

Distribution:

Described from soil around roots of beech trees (Fagus orientalis) In Rudkhan Castle forest in Gilan Province, northern Iran.
