Morphology and Anatomy:

  • Body annuli directed posteriorly except for the first two
  • Each annulus with fine lines which make the posterior edge appear crenated
  • Lip region with 2 annuli
  • Submedian lobes large, protruding, connected ventrally and dorsally; labial plates present; labial disc oval
  • Amphids large, oval
  • Stylet robust, straight, large knobe (12-12 um diam)
  • Excretory pore 2-4 annuli osterior to base of pharynx.

Female:

  • Monodelphic gonad is outstretched, and spermatheca is spherical, filled with sperm.
  • Vagina is straight,
  • Vulva closed, a narrow oblique slit
  • Body elongate conical posterior to vulva, termial annulus button-like

Male:

  • Retaini a layer of juvenile cuticle
  • Head withn 5 small annuli
  • Lateral field with 4 incisures
  • Spicules long (45-47 um), thin
  • Gubernaculum linear, about 20% of length of spicules
  • Bursa extends to end of rounded tail
