Distribution:

Reported in coniferous wood used for packing and shipping. Intercepted at Ningbo harbor in China.. Country of origin: Taiwan

Economic Importance:

Accurate identification of Aphelenchoididae in woody materials is of importance to regulatory agencies because of the potential damage to forests by Bursaphelenchus spp.

Feeding:

Ektaphelenchus taiwanensis was observed to feed as a predator on Aphlenchoides sp.  It did not multiply on the fungus  Botryoninia fuckeliana.
