Distribution:

Reported from the lacrimal fluid of dogs, cattle and rodent species, also in cat urine.

Biology and Ecology:

This nematode is typically a free-living species found in decaying organic material feeding on bacteria.  However, larvae may invade skin lesions of sick or debilitated animals and cause dermatitis (Marchiondo, 2020)
