Type species of the genus Distorhabditis poonchiana Shah, Vaid, Hussain & Ahmad, 2015

  Distorhabditis is to the species in the xylocola-group of the genus Protorhabditis Osche, 1952. However, Abolafia (2023) considers that the difference of the female reproductive systems being monodelphic is sufficient to maintain this taxon as  separate genus.

Morphology and Anatomy:

• Stoma with long tubular gymno-promesostegostom without valvular apparatus
• Pharynx with swollen metacorpus,

Female

• Monodelphic-prodelphic reproductive system
• Tail short conoid

Male:

• Bursa peloderan, anteriorly open.
• Spicules separate with ventrally curved anterior end and bifurcate terminus.
