Males:
Bacterivorous; closely associated with slugs and snails; some species may be facultative parasites of slugs and snails (Nermut et al., 2016).
Whether facultatively parasitic or not, they can complete their lifecycle feeding on bacteria in laborarory culture (Nermut et al., 2016).
