Panagrolaiminae

Panagrolaimus margarethae Massey

I gave Dr. S. Patricia Stock, then UCD Nematode Collection Manager, samples that contained a Panagrolaimus sp. from leaf litter around a shrub on the west side of Morro Rock, Morro Bay, CA.  Here is her response:

I have been able to culture and reproduce the panagrolaimid you gave me and according to my observation it seems to be Panagrolaimus margarethae, a species originally described by Massey from Utah, which was found in association with bark beetles.
