Morphology and Anatomy:

• Thin cylindrical body with finely-striated cuticle.
• Head rounded, no probollae, lips fused.
• Six each inner and outer labial papillae, four cephalic papillae.
• Stoma aberrant for panagrolaimids with cheilostom and gymnostom of equal length.
• Pharynx with a cylindical procorpus, valved median bulb and  terminal, pyriform bulb without a valve.
• Tail long and filiform in both sexes.
• Morphologically alligned with Diplogasterida but phylogenetic analyses using partial SSU and LSU sequences, unequivocally showed alignment with Panagrolaimidae.

Female:

• Monovarial, prodelphic with gonad reflexing after oviduct and extending posterior to vulva.
• Spermatheca long, not offset.
• Post-uterine sac short.

Male:

• No bursa.
• Spicules cephaloboid.
• Gubernaculum short and grooved.

Based on the phylogenetic analysis, the authors suggest that female reproductive system characteristics are stronger indicators of relationships than pharyngeal characteristsics.
