Morphology and Anatomy:

• Relatively small, slender nematodes.
• Cuticle smooth or finely striated (under SEM); cuticular layer loose along most of body, forming a vulval cuticular sac in females.
• Lateral alae indistinct.
• Labial region truncate, lips fused.
• Six inner labial, six outer labial and four cephalic papilliform sensilla present.
• Amphid apertures dorsolateral, transversely oval.
• Stoma reduced, composed of cheilostom only; glottoid apparatus absent.
• Esophagus with a cylindrical corpus, isthmus and glandular basal bulb lacking valves or grinder.
• Phasmids present.

Female:

• Ovary monodelphic, prodelphic, reflexed anteriorly, extending posterior to vulva.
• Spermatheca absent.
• Postvulval uterine sac present.

Male:

• Monorchic, testis reflexed ventrad anteriorly.
• Spicules absent or present; when present, paired and symmetrical.
• Gubernaculum absent or plate-like.
• Six or seven pairs of genital papillae: one precloacal, one adcloacal and four or five caudal pairs.
