Morphology and Anatomy:

Species in this genus are generally very slender.  The morphometrices often have wide ranges and there are not many other characteristics for separating species.  Differences among species exist in the surface characteristics of the cuticle which may have longitudinal ridges and a tiled appearance. Greater detail of the fine structure of the cuticle is revealed by SEM but the technique has not been used for most of the described species (Brostrom & Holovachov. 2001)
