Morphology and Anatomy:

  • Slender, cylindrical, tapering posterioly to an elongate conoid tail. 
  • Cuticle with coarse transverse striations and longitudinal incisures, resulting in a tessellate or tiled appearance.
  • Amphid minute, on first or second annule.
  • Lateral fields protruding
  • Lip region offset
  • Stoma wide anteriorly and posterior region narrow, surrounded by a collar of anterior esophagus.
  • Posterior bulb of esophagus ovate.
  • Female monovarial, prodelphic, with short postuterine sac.
  • Male rare, smaller and more slender than female.
  • Spicules strongly curved, no gubernaculum; three pairs of genital papillae.
  • Tail slender, twisted with two small mucros
