Morphology and Anatomy:

General charcteristics:

Synlophe without true cuticular ridges but with simple undulations instead.

 

 

Females:

  • Ovojector distinct ovojector; vestibule with 3 muscular branches, the first a prolongation of the vagina vera;
  • Caudal spine absent

Males:  

  • Genital cone with small irregular digitations
  • Spicules single-pointed, bifurcated or trifurcated
  • Caudal bursa with well-developed dorsal lobe and rays 10 and 9 notably longer.

Reported from the Neotropics (Slimane et al., 1996); frogs in Peru, Panama, Paraguay, Argentina..
