    Females:

    • Amphidelphic, monovarial, ovary reflexed, two postuterine sacs,
    • Spermatheca absent.

      
     

    Males:  

    • Monorchic, testis reflexed.
    • Two spicules, unequal size; left spicule normal; right spicule reduced, minute, triangular.
    • Gubernaculum complex, without dorsal apophysis.
    • Bursa absent.
    • Posterior papillae present, numerous; preanal, anal, and postanal; usually paired but some single

    Predator on other nematodes.

    Biology and Ecology:

    The type species, Odontopharynx longicaudata, can be cultured on the bacterivore, Acrobeloides sp. on 1.5% water agar. Such cultures faciliate study of the development and behavior of the nematode.
