Morphology and Anatomy:

Strongylidae are thought to have arisen from free-living rhabditoid nematodes (Durette-Dusset et al., 1994).

• Synlophe with well developed carene, made up of two continuous ridges; five dorsal continuous and/or discontinuous ridges, more than six ventral ridges.
