    Genus name derived from  Japanese word "yati-nezumi" meaning field mouse.

Morphology and Anatomy:

 

 

Females:

  • Monodelphic
  • Tail of female lacking spine

Males:  

  • Bursa asymmetrical, right lobe larger than left; arrangement of rays type 2-2-1; postero-Iateral rays short; dorsal lobe not separated.
  • Spicule tips fused, curved similar to letter "L".
  • Gubernaculum well-developed, boat-shaped. .
