Type species of the genus: Geohaliplectus andrassyi Siddiqi, 2012
Genus characterized by:
Geohaliplectus comes close to Haliplectus but the type species is described from a non-coastal or marine environment and having an angular offset cephalic region, the female being monodelpic-prodelphic, and the absence of spinneret at tail tip.
Cephalic region angular and offset, without labial or cephalic setae; cephalic sensilla papilliform
Stoma long, tubular, without teeth or denticles
Cuticle strongly annulated lacking ornamentation such as markings, spines and pores
Amphids circular
No spinneret at tail tip.
