Type species of the genus

    Synonyms:

Body long, cylindrical, slender.
Cuticle transversely striated, lateral alae absent.
Lips merged into one large dorsal and one large ventral lip with elongated inner and outer labial papillae, lateral lips and their inner and outer sensilla reduced.
Cheilostom bilaterally symmeytrical, with two anteriorly directed claw-like projections, one mid-dorsal and one mid-ventral; no gymnostom or stegostom.
Amphid foveslarge, unispiral, with wide groove, located slightly more than one head diam. from anterior end.
Cervical and somatic setae present.
Pharynx cylindrical with a posterior oval bulb, muscular. Cardia embedded in intestine.

Males:

Rreproductive system diorchic; testes long, directed anteriorly.
Spicules relatively short, strongly curved, manubrium enlarged, gubernaculum with apophysis.
Many midventral precloacal tubular supplements and one precloacal setiform sensillum.
