    Type species of the genus: Malakhovia chernobyli Tchesunov & Gagarin, 1999

Genus named in honor of  Prof. V.V. Malakhov who sampled these nematodes in the cooling reservoirs of the Chernobyl. Atomic Energy Station in northern Ukraine.

With characteristics of the family Andrassyidae.

Male:

  • unknown

Female:

  • Amphidelphic, didelphic

  • Uterus without hemi-rosette structure.

Distribution:

Free-living freshwater nematodes. Type species, Malakhovia chernobyli, described from specimens sampled by Prof. V.V. Malakhov in the cooling reservoirs of the Chernobyl. Atomic Energy Station in northern Ukraine.
