Morphology and Anatomy:

General characteristics of the genus:

• Buccal cavity large and deep, lips deeply incised.
• Buccal cavity large and consisting of two parts, with teeth in posterior part and cuticular projections.
• Mostly marine species, some occur in brackish water: B. capacosus Hopper, 1962 and B. longisetosus (Allg�n, 1929) Jensen, 1979 occur in brackish water in Finland.
