Caviputa macer (Andrassy, 1958( Andrassy, 2002

    Synonyms:

  Originally described by Andrassy (1958) as Alaimus macer but moved to Amphidlidae based on didelphic condition of females and visible, though small,  labial papillae.

Morphology and Anatomy:

 

 

 

  • Head rounded, not offset
  • Body very slender
  • Cuticle smooth and thin
  • Amphid apertures inconspicuous
  • Esophagus only widening in posterior 10% of length
  • Body very slender and relatively long, 1 - 1.4 mm, but shorter trhan most other species of the genus
  • Tail elongate-conoid to terminal point, curved vantrally

Female:

  • Amphidelphic, didelphis
  • Vulval lips not sclerotized
