Mononchidae
Parkellus Jairajpuri, Tahseen, & Choi, 2001
Type species of the genus: Parkellus parkus Jairajpuri, Tahseen, & Choi, 2001
The main feature distinguishing the genus Parkus from the morphologically similar Coomansus is the location of the dorsal tooth in the posterior half of the buccal cavity (Vu et al., 2021). tRhat separation was contested by Andrassy (2011) and by Zullini and Peneva (2006). However, Siddiqi (2015) and Ahmad and Jairajpuri (2010) agreed with, and accepteed, the separation of Parkellus from Coomansus.
