    Morphology and Anatomy:

    Species of Spauligodon are separated on the basis of the presence or absence of a spicule, the appearance of the tail, egg morphology, and geographical distribution (Bursey et al., 2014). .

    General characteristics of the genus:

    As of 2014, 50 species are assigned to Spauligodon: 8 from the Afrotropical realm, 1 from the Australian realm, 1 from the Madagascan realm, 7 from the Nearctic realm, 3 from the Neotropical realm, 3 from the Oceanian realm, 1 from the Oriental realm, 16 from the Palaeractic region, 5 from the Panamanian realm, and 5 from the Saharo-Arabian realm (Bursey et al., 2014)..
