Morphology and Anatomy:

   
 

Male:

  • Preanal papillae: 9 pairs subventral and 1 pair of lateral
  • Postanal papillae:  6 pairs, second pair lateral, others subventral.
  • Longitudinal ventral cuticular ridges absent.
  • Left spicule long, 651 um; distal tip of extruded spicule distinctly expanded.
  • Right spicule 108 um long, with distinct dorsal barb at distal tip.
  • Tail 135 um long.

Female:

  • Vulva postequatorial,.
  • Muscular vagina directed posteriorly.
  • Numerous eggs in uterus
  • Tail 192 um long

Distribution:

Described from the New Guinea rainbowfish Melanotaenia affinis  from a tributary of the Sogeram river in northern Papua New Guinea.
