Distribution:

Representative species of Pneumospirura include P. bassarisci from ringtail raccoons (Bassariscus astutus) in Texas, USA, P. hainanensis from the eurasian otter (Lutra lutra) in China (Wu and Hu, 1938) and P. capsulata from european badger (Meles meles) in Russia and Israel, and from  the Nile fox (Vulpes nilotica) and the marbled polecat (Vormela peregusna) in Israel (Gerichter, 1948; Sulimov, 1968; Pence and Stone, 1977).
