     Heterorhabditidae Poinar, 1975

  

Obligate insect parasites. Infective juveniles carry symbiotic bacteria in the bacterial chamber of the intestine.

Both hermaphrodites and amphimictic females and males occur (Nguyen and Smart, 1996).
