A small family of predator nematodes in terrestrial and freshwater habitats.
Head continuous with body contour
Cephalic papillae in 3 rings with 6-6-4 configuration
Stoma more or less tubular, encircled by esophageal tissue, anteriorly spacious, with large claw-like subdorsl tooth and about 6 rows of rasp-like subventral denticles
Esophagus cylindrical with 5 gland nuclei
Large cardiac glands at esophago-intestinal junction
Tail of both sexes short, cylindroid, rounded with large subterminal ventral spinneret
