Distribution:

Described from Russia on alfalfa in 1971. Also Ukraine and Kazakhstan, Barcoding evidence indicates that the nematode also occurs on alfalfa in Kansas and Montana, USA (Powers et al., 2018).

Hosts:

Hosts of the Schachtii group of Heterodera spp. are usually dicotyledonous plants. In this case, alfalfa but not soybeans, toamato or corn.
