  • Head low and continuous with body contour

  • Stylet knobs sloping poseteriorly.

  • DEGO < 0.5x stylet length behind stylet knobs

  • Metacorpus a slight swelling in the esophagus, valve weak or not apparent.

  • Isthmus grdually expanding into an elongate basal bulb that butts into the intestine.

  • Excretory pore at mid-level of basal bulb.

  • Tail is conical, and usually, ventrally curved, forming a hook.

Distribution:

Reported around roots of wheat in southern Iran (Monemi et al., 2022).

Economic Importance:

Probably fairly small.

Feeding:

Ectoparasites of plant roots, root hairs, algae, etc.

Yeates et al. (1993) described Boleodorus as plant feeders (algal, lichen (algal or fungal component), or moss feeders that feed by piercing), or hyphal feeders.
