Morphology and Anatomy:

.

The nomenclatural status of this genus was reviewed by Fortuner (1982).  Because many characteristics relevant for generic differentiation are not known for C. paragracilis, type species of the genus, Chitinotylenchus is considered a genus inquirendum or incertae sedis in the Anguinidae.

The genus has been considered a synonym of Ditylenchus and also has been variously placed in the Pratylenchidae and Hoplolaimidae

[Ref: Fortuner and Maggenti  (1987).]
