Distribution:

Recovered from a bottom sediment sample from the Ottawa river, Quebec, Canada. The species appeared to differ from all other genera of the family.  It was assigned to a new genus by Mulvey and Ebsary, 1980. Subsequent sampling revealed the type host as  Spartina pectinata (Ebsary and Eveleigh, 1993).
