General Characteristics of the Avenae Group of Heterodera

Initially reported from wild grasses in the eastern part of the Carpathian Mountains in Ukraine. Later reported from several countries in northern Europe and from the northeastern USA.
Many hosts in nature are monocotyledons. A parasite of grasses of the Agrostis genus and of other grass species.
