Synonyms: 

   Tylenchus (Lelenchus) Andrassy, 1954

As of 2016, there are four valid species of the genus Lelenchus. The genus is placed in the subfamily Ecphyadophorinae Skarbilovich, 1959 because of the dorso-ventrally flattened head, the very slender body and the elongate to sinuous amphidial slits which start from the oral plate and extend posteriorly on the lateral region of the head.  Of the described species, the type species, L. leptosoma, seems to be cosmopolitan and the other species have only been reported from their type localities (Geraert, 2008; Soleymanzadeh et al., 2016)..
