Meloidogyne vitis Yang, Hu, Liu, Chen, Peng, Wang & Zheng, 2021
Review general characteristics of the genus Meloidogyne.
Differs molecularly from all other Meloidogyne spp. Morphologically similar to M. mali but differs in the shape of the perineal pattern which has a higher dorsal arch in M. mali (Subbotin et al., 2021).
Reported median body size for this species (Length mm; width micrometers; weight micrograms) - Click:
Described from roots of grapevines in vineyards in Luliang County, Yunnan Province, China.
Sedentary endoparasite.
Feeding site establishment and development typical of genus.
Grape (Vitis vinifera).
Ecophysiological Parameters:
More than 90 % of grape roots collected from vineyards in Luliang County, Yunnan Province, China were severely damaged by root-knot nematodes (Subbotin et al., 2021)..
Symptoms include stunted palnts, chlorosis, small fruit, galled and necrotic roots.
