Chromadorea Rhabditida Tylenchina Tylenchoidea Meloidogynidae Meloidogyninae
Meloidogyne megatyla (Baldwin & Sasser, 1979)
Review general characteristics of the genus Meloidogyne.
Reported median body size for this species (Length mm; width micrometers; weight micrograms) - Click:
Described from Loblolly pine in Elizabethtown, North Carolina, USA.
Chromosome number 2n=37, 74. The large number, and variability of chromosome number, are typical of species reproducing by obligate mitotic parthenogenesis. (Triantaphyllou and Hirschmann, 1997; Subbotin et al., 2021; Triantaphyllou, 1985).
Typ Host: Loblolly pine (Pinus taeda).
Pine
Ecophysiological Parameters:
Chromosome number n=18. Reproduction by amphimixis (Goldsteinn and Triantaphyllou, 1982; Subbotin et al., 2021).
