Chromadorea Rhabditida Tylenchina Tylenchoidea Meloidogynidae Meloidogyninae
Meloidogyne querciana Golden, 1979
Review general characteristics of the genus Meloidogyne.
Reported median body size for this species (Length mm; width micrometers; weight micrograms) - Click:
Described from pin oak (Quercus palustris) from a seedling nursery in Virginia, USA.
Sedentary endoparasite.
Feeding site establishment and development typical of genus.
.Type Host: pin oak (Quercus palustris) . Some other woody perennials are hosts but cereals tested are not.
Ecophysiological Parameters:
Chromosome number 2n=30-32. The large number, and variability of chromosome number, are typical of species reproducing by obligate mitotic parthenogenesis. (Triantaphyllou, 1985; Subbotin et al., 2021)
